On Thursday, April 21st, Propeller Anime invites you to celebrate the godfather of anime and manga, Osamu Tezuka!
Mr. Tezuka has created countless iconic works such as Tetsuwan Atom(Astro Boy), Tetsujin 28(Gigantor), Black Jack, Jungle Emperor Leo(Kimba the White Lion), Phoenix, Buddha, Unico, and many more, including our main feature of the night, Metroplois.
In the futuristic city of Metropolis, humans and robots coexist. Robots are discriminated against and segregated to the city's lower levels. A lot of Metropolis' human population are unemployed and deprived, and many people blame the robots for taking their jobs.
Duke Red, the unofficial ruler of Metropolis, has overseen the construction of a massive skyscraper called the Ziggurat, which he claims will allow mankind to extend its power across the planet. Meanwhile, Kenichi and his detective uncle, Shunsaku Ban, leave Japan to visit Metropolis, in search of the criminal, Dr. Laughton. This will plunge them into a deep conspiracy involving Duke Red, the Zigguarat, and a robot girl named Tima who will be the key to everything.
Directed by Rintaro, written by Katsuhiro Otomo(Akira), and produced by Madhouse, Metroplois is a science fiction epic that you do not want to miss!
