Propeller Anime Radio #40: Burying the Crunchyroll Anime Awards, JJBA's Dub, Anime in US Theaters, and Joe Biden

Two podcasts in January?! How crazy is that? We did it, though as we are on the march to get to episode 50 before the year ends. Will it happen? We shall see! Shamus is back with Kent and they out the bow on 2016 and talk about some pretty topics:
  • A rundown and reaction to the Crunchyroll Anime Awards
  • Who should of won? Who should have been nominated?
  • Was there funny business going on with the selection process?
  • How bad is the English dub of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure?
  • Anime in US theaters featuring One Piece, Sailor Moon R, Ghost in the Shell, and Sword Art Online
  • Where does Joe Biden stand on anime in 2016?
  • What panel(s) should we revive for Anime Festival Orlando?

Next Propeller Anime Club meeting on Sunday, May 8th!

Depending on who you are, either welcome back from Spring break or congrats on your finals! Or perhaps congrats on graduating! Life has changed for quite a few of you but one thing that will never go away is Propeller Anime Club!

With that said, our next meeting will be on Sunday, May 8th at 1:00PM in FS3F-112 at Full Sail University in Building 3F. I've been looking to showing this feature for quite some time!

Our club has a lot of fans of Mamoru Hosoda, myself included. At the beginning of the year, we all enjoyed The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, and last year we were thrilled to see his masterpiece Summer Wars.

Before he went to Madhouse, he had a final run at TOEI taking what would become Japan's biggest anime and manga franchise and twisting it to a dark tale of mistrust, failure, and redemption.

Some have come up with the theory that this movie is symbolic of his time at Studio Ghibli when he was the original director of Howl's Moving Castle(before Hayao Miyazaki took over). Either way, it's a dark, fresh take on the pirates from One Piece.

Planned Schedule

1:00PM - Introduction and News
1:15PM - Record of Lodoss War 5 & 6
2:05PM - Gunbuster 5 & 6 (END)
3:10PM - Intermission(This means hang out, get food, etc.)
3:35PM - Durarara! 5 & 6
4:25PM - One Piece: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island
