Propeller Anime showing of Osamu Tezuka's Buddha on 6/23!

On Saturday, June 23rd at 4PM at A Comic Shop, Propeller Anime will be hosting a fun evening with a big movie to share! RSVP on Facebook.

The late, great Osamu Tezuka is the literal god of modern manga and, by extension, Japanese animation. He's most well known for the creation of Tetsuwan Atom, widely known here as Astro Boy.

His other works include Black Jack, Metropolis, Phoenix, Jungle Emperor Leo, and the manga that inspired our next feature, Buddha!

Osamu Tezuka's Buddha: The Great Departure, as you expect, is about the rise of the religious figure known as Gautama Buddha. Two countries are locked in war. The Shakya kingdom has a prince who is raised to warrior leader and is shielded from the miseries of the world.

In the much stronger Kosala, a slave on a quest to free his mother rises through the ranks of the military to become their hero and general. Their meeting will trigger events that will change the course of the world.

Before the movie, we'll have a couple episodes of something fun to show before the movie and we'll probably talk conventions since it's the summer. Fun times will be had!

A Comic Shop is located at 114 S. Semoran Blvd. Winter Park, FL 32792. Please spread the word about Propeller Anime! You can like Propeller Anime on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, and keep us in your Google+ circles!
