Propeller Anime Events at Anime Festival Orlando 2017


Coming up is the 18th annual Anime Festival Orlando, taking place June 9th to June 11th at the Wyndham Orlando Resort on International Drive. Of course, we will be there to host fun events throughout the weekend.

Check out our schedule below:

Friday, June 9th

Iron Cardboard Robot Cosplay
2:00pm to 4:00pm, Open Room (Oleander)

Up to 8 teams of 3 will compete for 75 minutes to create and wear robot costumes using cardboard, foil, tape, construction paper, and a secret ingredient! The best team wins prizes and a CHAMPIONSHIP BELT courtesy of Propeller Anime!

MakeAsentai Createnger (Let's Make a Toku Series!)
7:30 pm to 8:30 pm, Workshop (Cedar)

Make A Sentai......Make A Sentai .....Makeasentai.... Createnger. The fun contest where 3-5 groups of 3-6 people come together and make a Sentai/Power Ranger group under a time limit. Then the new group presents it self to a panel of judges to be scored on certain criteria.

It's MANIME! The Manly Anime Panel (18+)
10:45pm to 12:15am, Panel 1 (Lime)

It's the return of the panel that is FOR MEN BY MEN! In a world where men have gone soft, our hosts and HEROES OF JUSTICE are here to set things right with beef jerky, headbutts, and some of the manliest anime and manga ever. Warning: This panel is not for wimps. This Panel is 18+. Valid I.D. is required for entry.

Saturday, June 10th

Starting New Japan Pro Wrestling in 2017
8:45 pm to 9:45 pm, Panel 3 (Magnolia)

NJPW is the second largest wrestling promotion in the world, behind WWE, and poses the greatest threat to the McMahon empire in 2017. Find out how New Japan Pro Wrestling is different, why it's better than WWE, and what you need to know to get started as a fan.

Fantasy Anime: Now and Then
10:00pm to 11:00pm, Panel Room 4 (Largo)

Dwarves, elves, and dragons! Oh my! Come join us as we discuss why fantasy has always been a go to genre for anime!

The Wicked World of Go Nagai (18+)
12:30am to 1:30am, Panel 3 (Magnolia)

Welcome to the wicked world of Uncle Go Nagai! We will be showcasing some of the sleaziest anime in tribute to one of the most influential anime and manga artists of all time! This panel is 18+. Valid I.D. is required for entry.

Sunday, June 11th

West meets East: Anime Based on Western Literature
1:30pm to 2:30pm, Panel Room 3 (Magnolia)

Anime you’ve seen Anime based on manga and video games, but have you ever wondered what it would look like to see your favorite classics brought to life in a way that only Anime can do? Join us as we explore the journey from the page to screen with all your favorites, from Romeo and Juliet to Howl’s Moving Castle!
